I have seen preschool done in many different ways; I have seen what works and what doesn’t work. It has been a dream of mine to open a preschool and combine many different  teaching methods. Brilliant theorists like Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and many others, have taught us how to provide developmentally appropriate practices for our preschoolers. They show us how to instill this love of learning. Here at Tiny Giants I use these methods each day.

I believe in a child directed classroom, rather then a teacher directed one. All children have the desire to learn they simply need a guide. My goal is to ignite a love of learning and make your child's first impression of school a great one.

At Tiny Giants Preschool the children will be working in centers for a large part of the day. This gives the students access to many ways of learning. Everyday our students have access to these subject areas.

  • Practical Life
  • Cultural
  • Math
  • Language Arts
  • Sensorial
  • Reading/Writing
  • Science/Nature
  • Dramatic Play
  • Art
  • Small Manipulatives
  • Large Motor

By offering children this indirect guidance, they can learn by experiencing many different materials, they can understand the sequencing of events around them, learn good use of space and time, and they will have opportunities to work in large and small groups as well as individually.  Children can spend time in areas where they feel comfortable and have free access to experiment in subject areas that are new to them.

I firmly believe in teaching the whole child. Each student deserves to be healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

My Teaching Moto:

"Don’t Be The Teacher You Think You Should Be.
Be The Teacher You Wish You Had As A Child."

“There is no adult standard for a child's work. Adults think about the product. A child thinks about the process.”  - Professor Kelli Barker: Utah State University
